Important Information & Policies

(This information does not pertain to the Preschool Camps)

OFJCC Membership
Your child does not need to be an OFJCC member to attend J-Camp. However, to qualify for member prices, your child must be included in the parent’s Family Membership to the OFJCC Fitness Center at the time of registration and camp participation. Please Note: J-Pass holders, Club J and Preschool families who are not Members of the OFJCC Fitness Center must also pay the same rates as the general public. If you want to add your child to your current Membership or become a member, please contact the Membership Office at (650) 223-7201 or membership@paloaltojcc.org.

Financial Assistance (Camperships)
Camperships are available to families that qualify. Before applying, you must register your child for camp so that your family has a Camp Minder account. To apply, please log into your account to fill out a confidential application. Applications and all supporting documents must be submitted to the OFJCC by April 1, 2017. Fully completed applications are necessary in order to begin consideration. In the case that an award does not meet a family’s need, all money paid will be fully refunded. Camperships are made possible through the OFJCC Camp Scholarship Fund and the Jewish Community Day Camp Scholarship Fund of the Jewish Community Endowment Fund. For more information, please contact the scholarship committee at youth@paloaltojcc.org.

Extended Care

            AM Care
J-Camp is proud to offer free morning care for all campers from 8:00-8:45 AM.  If you take advantage of J-Camp’s Express drop-off, J-camp counselors will walk your camper up to morning care where campers can participate in gaga, art activities, and games. You may also park and walk your camper up to morning care.

            PM Care
If your camper doesn’t want the fun to stop, J-camp has a great PM care program from 3:30-6:00 PM for an additional fee. If you register for PM care by the Friday prior to the camp session beginning, you can take advantage of our great $40 daily rate or $80 weekly rate.  Once the camp session has begun, the daily drop-in rate is $80 a day and the weekly rate is $100.

Location
All camps meet at the Oshman Family JCC. Some camps may travel off-site for activities and field trips. The location of any off-site trips will be included in your camp highlight sheet, which will be sent the Thursday prior to the beginning of your camp. If you have any questions pertaining to a camp’s location, please contact youth@paloaltojcc.org

Health History & Consent

When you sign up for J-Camp, please be prepared to fill out your child’s health history information as part of the registration process (The entire process of registration will take approximately 20–30 minutes per child). It is the responsibility of his/her parent(s) or legal guardian to provide his/her own accident and health/dental coverage while participating in all OFJCC activities. The OFJCC does not provide any accident or health/dental coverage for its members.

Special Assistance
J-Camp is known for being an inclusive and accommodating camp. We strive to support all children of varying needs and abilities to have a positive camp experience. If you believe your child may require special assistance, please call the Camp Office at (650) 223-8622, in order to set up a meeting with the Camp Director to discuss how we may be able to best accommodate your camper.

Sign-Outs
J-Camp Sign-outs take place in the OFJCC Town Square from 3:15-3:30 PM Monday-Thursday. On Fridays, Sign-outs will take place in the cultural arts courtyard after Shabbat which ends at approximately 3:30 PM (Please don’t hesitate to join us for Shabbat, and have a chance to see all the great things your camper did during the week). When signing your camper out, J-Camp staff will ask you to show your ID in order to verify you are authorized to pick-up your camper.  Please make sure that anyone who will be picking up your camper is on the authorized to pick up list and knows to bring their ID with them. If you need to add someone to this list, you can do it in your parent account or contact the camp office at youth@paloaltojcc.org or (650) 223-8622.  If you would like your camper entering grades 6-12 to have the ability to sign their self out at the end of the camp day, please fill out the Permission to Walk Home slip, which can be obtained through the Camp Office or in your Camp In Touch account.

Registration
Camp registration is available online. Camps have maximum capacities that are often reached quickly, so we encourage you to register as soon as possible. Registration remains open until the Thursday before a camp session begins or until the camp is full. Campers may register on the first day of a camp session, based on availability, by visiting the Camp Office (Room M-115). Please block out at least 30 minutes to register your child if it is the first day of the session.

J-Camp Cancellations, Transfers, & Refund Policy
In order to continue to offer excellent camps at an affordable price, the OFJCC has set cancellation, credit and refund guidelines for all camp programs. If you would like to change or cancel a session of camp, you may fill out the J-Camp Change/Cancellation form, which can be found in your parent account, camp office, or you can email youth@paloaltojcc.org to request one. Please note there is a $20 fee assessed for each change, and your deposit is forfeit for any cancellations. The J-Camp Change/Cancellation form must be submitted to the camp office up to two weeks prior to the start of the session to receive a refund (less deposit). Payments will not be refunded for changes and cancellations made after the two-week deadline.

Lost & Found
J-Camp counselors try their best to help campers keep track of their items, but sometimes campers may lose articles of clothing or belongings.  Any unclaimed articles at the end of the camp day will be placed in the J-Camp Lost & Found, located outside the Camp Office M115. J-Camp will do it’s best to notify the owner of lost articles if they have the campers’ name clearly marked on the item.  At the end of the Summer Camp season, we will donate any remaining items in the lost and found to a local charity.
